Richard Wayne Coombs

Richard W. Coombs is a Senior Associate at Butler Pappas. Richard focuses his practice on property insurance coverage matters. Prior to becoming an associate, Richard was a Staff Attorney for Justice Peggy A. Quince at the Florida Supreme Court between the years 2005 and 2007. Additionally, he was a judicial law clerk for two different Circuit Court Judges in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit, Kansas City, Missouri. Between 2000 to 2003, he clerked for Judge Jon R. Gray and between 2003 to 2005 Richard clerked for Judge Gregory B. Gillis. During law school, Richard completed four internships. He was a legal intern in: a legal aid office in Boston; the public defender's office in West Palm Beach, Florida; a small firm in Boston; and a medium-sized firm in Miami, Florida.

Richard attended Florida State University, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications in 1995. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1999 from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is a member of The Florida Bar, Tallahassee Bar Association, and Defense Research Institute.
