Michael J Bonfanti

MICHAEL J. BONFANTI is a partner in Chartwell’s Tallahassee office.  Mr. Bonfanti focuses his practice on civil litigation defense, handling first and third party property claims, insurance coverage disputes, premise liability, product liability, personal injury, workers’ compensation, subrogation actions, and family law. 

Mr. Bonfanti was born in Methuen, MA, and grew up in New Hampshire.  He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in 1999, magna cum laude.  He attended the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he graduated with merit with an MSc. in 2001.  Mr. Bonfanti then worked in politics as a field director for a gubernatorial and congressional campaign, prior to moving to Florida to attend Florida State University College of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2005.

He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2005, and the Georgia Bar since 2007. Mr. Bonfanti is admitted to all Florida and Georgia state courts and the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Florida, Middle District of Florida, Southern District of Florida, and the Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia. 

Prior to joining Chartwell, Mr. Bonfanti worked at a large Florida insurance defense firm for five years, and then worked as a litigation attorney at Burnette Miller Wollermann, LLC, where he specialized in property insurance coverage disputes, all aspects of insurance defense litigation, subrogation matters, and family law.
