After having practiced law, taught, and written books on insurance  since 1979, I developed a brain tumor which, although removed, has prevented the further practice of law.

I utilize this and other forums as ways to help people understand the frequently complex and confusing area of insurance, and to guide them in better understanding the facts and principles that underlay their problems.  Since I do not accept clients, I attempt to take an approach that assists them in  understanding the issues, rather than to generate business

There are many situations in which lawyers are useful and needed.  There are many others where a thoughtful explanation of the issues suffices.
