Biography
For the last 20 years, Michael Spellman has focused his practice on representing employers statewide before state and federal judges, juries, arbitrators and administrative agencies. Over the years, Michael has developed a style which combines intense advocacy with a deliberate and thorough methodology of preparation. In addition to his father who was a federal judge in Miami, Michael served a judicial clerkship for a federal judge in Jacksonville immediately following his law school graduation. Most of Michael’s work is in federal court, and he has appeared in over 100 cases in the Northern District of Florida alone, in addition to serving on several committees appointed by that court. Michael’s experiences and skills in the employment law arena include drafting and training policies, conducting internal investigations, advising clients during compliance audits and defending individual, class action and collective action litigation brought under all state and federal laws. For the past 15 years, Michael has been honored with the highest ratings from numerous organizations, including an “AV” rating from Martindale Hubbell.
