Forgive But Will Never Forget

Sold himself as a defending attorney; but because of lack of communication and the run around, don’t know to this day if there was any effort to really defend. When asked questions he talked fast and was incoherent. I believe the outcome could have been better prepared for... but our entire family wa...s in shock. This wasn’t what we paid for.

HORRIBLE

He was hired to handle a case back in 2018 here it 2022 and nothing still resolved, can't get in touch with the office and nothing but the run around everytime I call or no answer at all. I would never recommend his services to anyone.

Willful Neglect of Client

Total waste of money. This is a service filled with mistakes and incompetence, run by an arrogant man that accepts no responsibility for the mistakes made at his firm. The actions of the Gregory Law Firm have cost us a great deal of hardship, and I feel we would have been better off with zero reprens...entation. To say neglect was a factor would be an understatement. For years we have asked for one document , thousands of dollars later, no one at the firm is able to tell us if the recieved that document. It is of my opinion that this firm needs to be shut down in it's entirety, and Mr. Gregory himself needs to lose his license to practice law. These practices of this firm remind me of the old snake oil salesman that used to go to small villages, a lot of big talk, but when not followed through with productive results, they are no where to be found. A total disgrace! Save your money, use someone else at half or less of the cost and get better results!

Unprofessional Showboating Attorney

I hired Mr. Gregory to defend me in an injunction case. I interviewed with him and another lawyer. I thought I was in good hands because they assured me that my accusers had no case and I hadn't done anything to warrant an injunction. By the time of my court date he passed me off to another associ...ate who had no experience with injunctions. The attorney lost my case and didn't even understand the consequences of what would happen if he did. I had to leave my home and was never allowed back. I was advised an appeal would be submitted, but I was never notified when the appeal was and the Gregory law firm denied ever being notified. Even though the firm had moved from their previous location. They did bother to notify me of the remainder of the bill, but not my appeal date. Needless to say the appeal date was missed and a judgment was enter against me. Because the attorney performed miserably, criminal charges raised from the injunction loss. Mr Gregory attempted to send the same attorney, and when I demanded he take the case, he assured me he would. That included him not showing up to the court date and ill advising me on whether I need to as well. I had to sign my right to a speedy trial away for him not showing up to the court date. I had always advise Mr. Gregory I wanted a trial because I knew I was innocent of the allegations, he kept trying to get me to take a plea, like he didn't understand why he was hired or what he was hired for. Then after the two of the attorneys who was handling my cases left the firm, he brought in another attorney he hired and wanted me to come in and discuss more fees. I had advised him he could tell me over the phone what his intentions was because I wasn't coming in to discuss a fee until he stated his plan of action. He didn't oblige me, I told him I no longer needed his services. On my next court date he sent an attorney I never met, to tell the court I missed appointments and I was belligerent to his staff. I was nice and didn't ever display my anger toward his services until I lost my home, signed my rights away to a speedy trial, and realized he was using me to cover his associates expenses with out providing a trial defense by telling me I'm screwed because I wasn't going to get a fair trial no matter what in St. Johns County. He advised me to plea to something I didn't do. I didn't want to speak to him again and left it at that and opted for the public defender that Mr Gregory insulted because of the high water pants he was wearing. Mr. Gregory was wearing some gator skin boots and had a stain on his suit that I didn't think was appealing either. I advised Mr. Gregory's new attorney I will be speaking for myself at this court date and explained there was no malice towards him because I didn't know him and it wasn't his fault, and Good Luck on Mr. Gregory's high turn around firm. I tried to block the Gregory experience out of my mind and refrain from any comments about his services, just stating that it didn't work out. I have heard from my new counsel that Mr. Gregory referred to me as "crazy", but my mother pays. I am hurt and disgusted. If Mr. Gregory remotely was successful at law more than running his mouth about my mothers finances, I wouldn't be here writing this review. My new counsel is 3 times more expensive than Mr. Gregory which goes to show, you get what you pay for!

I disagree and I think the allegations are inaccurate. I cannot ethically confirm or deny whether this person was ever a client.

updated on 05/30/2013

Suspension means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

Rodney’s comment:

“The disciplinary action of 2008 was based on an error in judgment occurring in 2000. No client’s interests, funds or properties were jeopardized, and no litigation or court matter was involved. This is the only disciplinary action in my 33 year legal career. I've moved on, and continue to perform legal services for my clients to the best of my ability. The suspension occurred in 2008 and was for 90 days. No probation or application was required and reinstatement occurred without objection.”
