Straight Shooter

I know lawyers. I think that I could have been a good lawyer, but I could not have been as good as Mr. Tipping. He is straight forward. I don't know if everyone appreciates that about him. He says what is on his mind. He reviews contracts faster than anyone I've ever seen. He is amazing. If you nee...d a contract reviewed, he'll get it back to you in less than a week. He is also an unrelenting debt collector. I think he enjoys collecting debt and that is hard to find. I would recommend him to anyone!

UNPROFESSIONAL

Mr Tipping volunteered at Legal Aid to help me with my divorce. It would be a fairly easy divorce. My husband was sending $200 a month and I wanted Mr Tipping to go for child support because I knew it would be higher. When we met about the paperwork I noticed he left it at the $200. I questioned him ...about it. He fumbled for an answer and then said that he checked and the $200 would be the better way to go. My sister was with me and knows about all of this. I ended up with Leukemia and we did paperwork through the mail a few times. I ALWAYS got my paperwork done and sent back to him. I called numerous times and he would not return my calls. When he did actually call me back, he admitted he should do a better job in keeping in touch with me. We started this in early 2012. The last time I talked to him was around March 2013, or around then. He kept saying he was going to submit the paperwork and would call me. He also said he was putting in the paperwork so I wouldn't have to pay him. I have contacted Legal Aid and they could not get in touch with him. I just found him on Facebook and sent him a message. I now see he has moved to Gainesville. Now I am told by Legal Aid that they may have to close my case because of lack of lawyers. This should have taken only at the most 6 months! He has really made things hard for me now and I am very disappointed. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I know he is some kind of "Financial" lawyer and volunteered to help me, but if he can't keep is word on something like this how can you expect him to follow through and be professional in anything else?

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education

  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
