A senior manager in KPMG’s Tax Controversy Services practice, Mike specializes in the representation of corporations & individuals before the IRS’ Examination & Appeals Divisions & in alternative forums for dispute resolution such as mediation & arbitration. Mike also helps clients with Service's Competent Authority, APA, 9100 relief & penalty abatement processes.

I was a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for 19 of my 20 years as an attorney for the IRS. In that capacity, I handled numerous bankruptcy cases for the government involving both individual and coorprate debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases.

The planning for the investment and orderly transfer of assets upon the death of the client or their relatives, including the creation of trusts or other transfer vehicles for purposes of estate and gift tax avoidance.
