The worse lawyer ever!!! I would not recommend to hire this woman she is very unprofessional and rude!!!! This attorney failed to provide adequate representation for my husband. She consistently sided with the prosecution and made no meaningful objections during trial. She refused to submit critical ...motions that could have supported his defense and declined to introduce newly discovered evidence that was vital to his case. She did not keep her client properly informed of developments throughout the proceedings, which left him at a significant disadvantage. In my opinion, her lack of advocacy and failure to pursue available legal remedies demonstrate ineffective assistance of counsel. I cannot recommend her services. I suggest looking elsewhere for a proper lawyer.

Schlax, who took over our case after it had been horribly neglected, misrepresented and destroyed by a pathetic and unethical individual practi...cing law in Jacksonville, Florida. My son spent 40 days in Duval County Jail before Julie quickly reviewed the information, understood our case and immediately moved to action to stop the deadly spiral our family was thrown into by a series of mean spirited people and circumstances. She worked relentlessly to reduce the unfair 14 felonies charges (one felony charge for each non-threatening email) to 3 misdemeanors for violation of injunction. Our family is in awe of Julie’s abilities and forever grateful for her kindness and care during this most difficult period in our lives.

About 6 months ago, I made a really bad decision. I was arrested, and all of a sudden was facing prison time and mandatory designation as a sex offender. Thank God I hired Julie Schlax. Not only did I not serve a day in jail, I do not have to register. She never judged me and answered all my ques...tions. I hope I never need her again, but I would definitely go back if I did.

Our 14yr old daughter was sexually assaulted by a man whom she met at school. When my husband was informed of this devastating news he immediately went to this mans place of employment with a tire tool. Having never seen the man but knowing his name, my husband hit a man twice in the elbow with the t...ire tool, it was the wrong man. He caused minor damage to this person, immediately apologized, and turned himself in. He was under extreme duress, had just had back surgery and was heavily medicated, our son had just gotten out of ICU after having a near death seizure, and he had just found out our daughter was raped. My husband has no criminal record at all prior to this and the prosecutor mentioned having a mental health evaluation because of the medication, which she also did not inform us of. We hired Julie at an enormous fee, she did little work for or with us, she did not inform us of a plea offered by the state, she recommended we plead no contest and be at the mercy of the judge, I actually obtained copies of emails sent between her and the prosecutor telling him what a strong case the state has; that is not DEFENSE! She rarely returned a call or email, and now our life is ruined because she is a part time attorney with no defensive criminal trial experience. My husband who had a 13 year career, insurance for our family, is a great provider, husband, father, best friend, prayer partner, church trustee, and outstanding member of this community, is now sitting in prison for 34.5 months with 10 years of probation. All of this because this attorney failed to do her job, convinced us to trust her, failed to stand up to the prosecutor at sentencing, and took advantage of the fact that we are Christian people with absolutely no experience with the judicial system. We are devastated, our life and our children's lives, especially that of our severely handicapped son and our daughter (who is now in rape and Christian counseling, are devastated. Please do not make the same mistake we made. Just because an attorney has a good rating from a few clients and business associates does not mean they are a good attorney, the majority of the people represented can not speak because they are probably incarcerated. If you have a serious legal matter, do not hire Julie Schlax. She is very sweet and is a wolf in sheeps clothing, took our money and hasn't looked back.
