John Kenneth Reid

I am a Board Certified Criminal Trial Attorney and am a former prosecutor, having served as a supervisor in the Career Criminal and Sex Crimes Unit in Daytona Beach during my four and a half years at the office. While at the State Attorney's Office, I handled thousands of cases, including DUIs, sex crimes, murders and death penalty cases. I have tried over 80 criminal trials in my career and am four-time recipient of the prestigious "Top Gun" award given to the best trial attorney at the State Attorney's Office. I have trained both federal and state law enforcement in investigations and testifying in trial.

I am a native of Volusia County and received my B.S. from the University of Florida. I received my law degree from the University of Oklahoma. I started my career in private practice in Oklahoma handling criminal defense, civil and family law matters. I then returned to Florida and served as an Assistant Public Defender in Seminole County for two years. There, I defended thousands of clients in cases ranging from DUI to murder. I was recently appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Judicial Nominating Committee for the Seventh Circuit.
