I am a FLORIDA BAR BOARD-CERTIFIED SPECIALIST AND EXPERT IN CRIMINAL TRIAL LAW. My practice is limited to criminal defense and related matters. No case is too big or too small. Every client is important to me. My office is located in Saint Augustine near I95 & County Road 210 at exit mm 329. I provide free and confidential case evaluations. A large portion of my practice is DUI defense and DMV formal review hearings. I also frequently defend gun, drugs, and domestic violence / battery cases.
As a BOARD CERTIFIED CRIMINAL TRIAL LAWYER I have passed a written examination, peer and judicial review, practiced criminal law for over 5 years, completed advanced continuing legal education courses, and completed a minimum of 25 criminal trials to verdict. Overall, my experience spans more than a decade on both sides of the courtroom as a prosecutor and defense attorney in North Florida. I have handled over 3,500 cases and 45 trials to verdict from first offense DUI to homicide.
Since 2020, I have been rated "AV PREEMINENT" BY MARTINDALE-HUBBELL. This is the highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
Since 2016, I have maintined a "SUPERB / 10.0" rating by AVVO. Since 2019, I have been recognized by AVVO with a client's choice award . In 2018, I was selected to the Top 40 under 40 for criminal law in Florida by The National Trial Lawyers. I am a former ASSISTANT STATE ATTORNEY, SEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT (SAINT JOHNS, VOLUSIA, FLAGLER, AND PUTNAM COUNTIES). For more than 5 years, I prosecuted criminal offenses from misdemeanor to felony. I served in the DUI and Domestic Violence divisions, as well as the special Drug Unit Prosecutor in Saint Johns County. Additionally, I assisted the Homicide Investigation Unit at trial in multiple prosecutions. In 2015, State Attorney RJ Larizza awarded me the "TOP GUN" TRIAL AWARD.
I am the Chairman of the JUDICIAL NOMINATING COMMISSION, SEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT. I was first recommended by The Florida Bar, and then appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to this position in 2019. In 2020, I was re-nominated by The Florida Bar and re-appointed by Governor DeSantis to the 7th Circuit JNC for a four year term. As a Commissioner, I am responsbile for the vetting, interview, and nomination of applicants for judicial vacancies occuring in Saint Johns, Volusia, Flagler, and Putnam counties.

Excellent attorney
When I had the public defender, the state attorney wanted to send me to prison for two years. After hiring Mr. Mydock, the prosecutor decided to reduce the charge to a misdemeanor and offer me time served just before trial. I am so thankful that Mr. Mydock took on my felony case.
