I had a horrifying experience with Ms Leonard, I wish I would have hired anyone other than her. After paying $3,500 up front for "services earned upon receipt", she finally contacted me 2 days prior to my hearing. She told me that she "had no idea" what my hearing was about, had not been in contact... with opposing councils representation, and told me to send her a financial affidavit that evening, or as soon as possible as she believed that was what the hearing was about. It was clear to me that she had done absolutely nothing prior to this 5 minute call and was scrambling to figure anything out. I asked to revoke her representation and requested a refund, incredibly disappointed at her lack of effort or knowledge. I was so upset and let down that I didn't look at her additional text saying that she would continue to charge me if i did not print out, notarize, and return a document firing her. I received absolutely NOTHING other than her filing an electronic notice of representation in exchange for the $3,500 I paid her. I was significantly financially harmed due to the outcome of the hearing, and would otherwise not had been with adequate, competent council. Furthermore- she agreed in writing to refund $1,000 of my monies paid in writing- something that she never did until I filed a Bar complaint against her after 2 months of her refusal to respond to emails, calls or texts. She showed callousness and in my opinion questionable ethics by not honoring her word without the involvement of disciplinary action-saying nothing of her blatant disregard for the outcome of my case. She received her degree from the Florida School of law- a now discredited institution. There are so many better, far more experienced attorneys to choose from. Anyone- anyone is better than her. Don't be a fool like I was- take your hard earned money elsewhere to an attorney with experience and intact ethics and principles. Learn from my mistake.
