Beware!

Marla Rosin was assigned to me after I hired the Owensby Law Group to represent me in divorce proceedings after the first of the year in 2018. She was a new hire by them, and we had our first meeting in the Orange Park offices of Owenby Law, PA., at which time we reviewed my case and merits of figh...ting for certain marital property rights. She was optimistic about the outcome, evidently clueless of the laws underpinning marital property, which latter surfaced. Subsequent meetings were held at the south side offices. I assumed everything was on track, and we discussed needed proof sources (bank and and debt records, mine and my spouses). After our 3rd such meeting, and the passage of several months, I received my first, and only statement, totaling over $13,000, more than double an original estimate...and Marla was terminated by Owenby Law, PA. After a couple on months, I found her again, she said the problems at Owenby Law were theirs, and we discussed moving forward with my case, how wrong it was to not have an ongoing accounting for fees and charges...and that she would represent me at a reduced rate, and proceed to settlement or court, whichever was appropriate. Since certain bank records needed from many years ago would need to be researched by my credit union, and charges would accrue, she counseled me to wait until a settlement was reached to order them, since they would not be needed unless we went to trial. After our second court date was established (the opposition canceled the first), the opposing counsel filed a fraud complaint against me that I denied venomously, and instructed Marla to counter with all hast and force. She did not, instead deciding it was true, without even a discussion of why. Opposing council also informed Marla of another incident over 40 years ago, that was, in fact substantially true, and decided, without so informing me for several weeks, that she would not proceed to trial as a result, and that I “lied to her”...even though I believed the incident to be irrelevant and long ago, and never denied nor confirmed it’s existence. She never discussed her apparent shift in stance until, until just before trial date, and after she decided I was not representable. The need to order the pertinent evidence necessary to go to trial was never requested, or followed up on, potential witnesses were dismissed without my input, with her only statement being she “told me before, and I didn’t produce them”. She them became hostile to me, my case, and my prospects for justice, informing me that I “should be grateful” for any distribution from a $300K accumulated marital estate. After waiting until 1 week before a trial date my attorney would not keep, opposing council lopped off over $30K from a negotiated settlement with no opposition from my attorney. To this day, I have not received any of my divorce papers, nor a single accounting for funds paid for my representation. The opposing council dictated the entire case, I acted as my own attorney more that Marla did, and she became openly hostile to me and my case. To this day, I've requested signed documents from Marla, with no response at all from emails and texts. Beware! Find an attorney that will represent YOU, and fight for YOUR rights!
