Mandi Deyerle McDonough

I was recommended to use Ms McDonough from another solider in my unit. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate towards the military and has first hand knowledge of what military families go through. Ms McDonough has been very timely in her responses, even when sick and visiting the hospital for t...reatments, patient with all of my questions as I have never been through a divorce before. She has just been amazing and there are not enough totes to explain how grateful I am to have been recommended to such an outstanding woman.

Scheduled a consultation for an uncontested divorce. Tried to set up a meeting 3 days later to hire her and couldn't get a call back. I called 7 times, sent several emails and never got a response. Finally I sent an email advising I would be looking elsewhere she replied and said I had unreal expec...tations and she is glad I didn't hire her. Glad I didn't waste my time. Have heard so many horror stories since then.

Mandi presented herself as a caring, concerned person who didn't want more clients but felt compelled to help!! She said she would "discount" her fees because she was so committed to this case! (We later found her fees to be the same as others charge) We paid the retainer and didn't hear from her ag...ain for weeks! Her assistant assured us she was working on it....."She is in court right now, she has your file at home and it is her HIGHEST priority..etc...etc......" For 6 weeks we called, left messages, texts. ANYTHING to get her to respond!! Finally she returned an urgent request and berated us for interrupting her vacation! When we questioned her lack of communication she threatened to withdraw from the case. When she was easily outmaneuvered by the opposing attorney she responded with a late night call laced with vulgar rantings but no real explanation for how it happened or what her plan would be going forward. When it became apparent she had no real intentions of working this case, we tried once more to appeal to her through an email detailing our concerns and basically begging her to help. Within 5 minutes she called (After months of little or no response) and began screaming that we were NOT her priority! She had a lot of other cases and she was sick of hearing from us. She immediately withdrew from the case and has yet to return our files or an explanation of charges to our retainer as requested. For nearly 4 months of her having this case she filed the initial paperwork and returned 3 phone calls which lasted approximately 10 minutes each. We almost lost custody!! And would have had it not been for an awesome attorney who took this case and managed to accomplish in 3 weeks what Mandi couldn't or wouldn't in months!! There are some honest, hardworking attorneys out there! Mandi McDonough is not one of them!! You're almost better having no attorney than one who doesn't file timely, doesn't respond to opposing attorney and misses court procedures. We have now heard from many others who have also been very disappointed and will be following through on further action with the Georgia Bar Association.

I have been working on getting a divorce for awhile now. In fact the divorce lasted longer then the marriage. The first lawyer I hired asked me how much I wanted to pay my ex to go away. Really!!!! After dealing with that lawyer for awhile and realizing nothing was going to happen, I found Mandi. She... was awesome!! The other party would keep putting meditation off because my ex wanted to keep using my insurance. Keep in mind we have no kids and no property together. Mrs McDonough was relentless in getting us to meditation. Once at meditation everything was agreed upon and signed. Well right after that my ex fired her lawyer got a new one and said that she was forced to sign at meditation. Finally we get to court and Mrs McDonough wasted no time in telling the judge what had happened at meditation and that no one was forced, and if that was the case that’s something my ex needs to take up with her lawyer not me. I got everything I asked for and never had any doubt that Mrs McDonough would not delivery like she said. The best divorce lawyer in the Columbus area!!!
