Constance Deanne Cooper

After spending eight years as a journalist in print and on television -- covering crime and government for both the Savannah Morning News and WTOC-TV -- Constance Cooper attended Savannah Law School, where she graduated second in her class, a semester early, while working for civil plaintiff's firms in Savannah the entire time.

Constance earned CALI Awards in E-Discovery, Legal Writing, Evidence, Secured Transactions, Business Organizations, Health Care Law, Criminal Procedure, and Immigration Law. She served as Associate Editor of Savannah Law Review and also worked as a research assistant to Professor Eugene Mazo, an election law scholar, in editing "Democracy for the People: Reforming Campaign Finance in America." She was a John E. Ryan Merit Scholar at Savannah Law School and also studied International Criminal Law and Counter-Terrorism in The Hague, Netherlands.

Constance earned her undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago, where she graduated magna cum laude and was an Arthur J. Schmitt Scholarship recipient. During her time as a journalist, Constance earned multiple awards, including two Georgia Associated Press Managing Editors awards and four Georgia Press Association awards. Constance finds the network of contacts in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry she cultivated as a journalist to be invaluable in her work as a lawyer. She utilizes the skills she mastered as a reporter -- investigating, interviewing, networking, and negotiating -- to zealously advocate for her clients, bringing the same dogged determination to winning cases that she did to investigating corruption and breaking news stories.
