Attorney Amanda Oliveira grew up in Bluffton, SC. She attended College of Charleston where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Spanish and a minor in Latin American Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also studied abroad in Santiago, Chile. After graduation, she worked for La Isla Magazine as Language School Director, Contributing Writer, and Translator. She went to Brazil to obtain an English as a Second Language (ESL) certification for teaching and through soon became aware of the various needs of the immigrant communities within in and outside of the United States. She also became a Certified Interpreter for the Supreme Court of South Carolina. Through interpreting, she met Attorney Hector Esquivel, and worked as his paralegal for several years before deciding to attend law school. While attending school and working full time, she married Brazilian and United States Citizen Rafael Oliveira and started a family. She graduated from Savannah Law School in 2019, where she earned the CALI award for Immigration Law and participated in Moot Court, Law Review, and served as Vice President of the Christian Legal Society. She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese fluently. She continues to have a passion for Latino and immigrant communities and values faith and family.
