Timothy Joseph Boyd

Joe Boyd grew up in Macon, Georgia, where he continues to reside with his wife, Lauren, and their children, Hayes and Elizabeth. His eldest son, Josh Boyd, is an attorney in Atlanta, Georgia, where he resides with his wife, Jordan, and Joe’s beloved grandchildren, Aurora, and Theo. Joe is the son of Bill and Marvalene Boyd. Bill was an author, and columnist for the Macon Telegraph and was well known for his humorous depictions of people from the Middle Georgia area. Marvalene worked for the Bibb County school system for more than 25 years.

After a tour in the United States Marine Corp, Joe graduated in 1994 from Mercer University with a B.A. in History. Joe later earned a master’s degree in education from Georgia College & State University and taught high school for seven years. Having played baseball for Mercer University, Joe also coached football and baseball and led the Macon County Varsity Baseball team to their first regional championship in 25 years. For this accomplishment, Joe won the Coach of the Year award for that region as well as the All-Middle Georgia Coach of the Year Award. Joe earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2004.

Joe was a partner at Reynolds, Horne & Survant exclusively managing Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation claims for fifteen years. In his first trial, Joe had the distinction of obtaining a $1.1 million dollar verdict from a Fulton County jury for his clients. In 2013, Joe obtained a $4.5 million Workers’ Compensation settlement, which, at the time, was the largest Workers’ Compensation settlement in Georgia history.

In May of 2020, Joe opened his own firm, The Law Office of Joe Boyd, where he grew his reputation and continued toprovide exceptional, personalized legal representation to help clients rebuild their lives. He focuses on establishing lifelong relationships with his clients and their families and striving to achieve the best possible solution for each unique client and case. 

In February 2026, The Law Office of Joe Boyd, merged with Kenneth S. Nugent, PC, where Mr. Boyd's primary areas of practice are Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, Car Accidents, Wrongful Death, Tractor-Trailer Accidents, and Premises Liability. He looks forward to continuing to build strong client relationships and help people in need for years to come.
