Not a Good Choice.

John is not a good choice. He is weak minded and not a go get'er. He did not do the research needed to fulfill the needs of our case. Our family did most of the research work, and believe me when I say the "MAJORITY" of the case research. We wrote his cross examination questions, his closing argument... statements, etc. Client-Attorney confidentiality, you can forget that. His communication skills are horrible. In the end we lost our case, we found out the verdict from a call and FACEBOOK post from the other party. Going on weeks now and we still have NOT received court papers confirming anything. You best bet the $10,000+ he was paid was a WASTE, he did not earn that money but was eager to get it, if he was as eager to help others as he was about getting paid he might make a good lawyer.

Has problems keeping you in the loop

Mr Goodner is a nice guy. But he tends to juggle to many cases at the same time and I found that paperwork and or filings were sometimes delayed for no other reason than he had some BIG cases he was working. Paperwork from court proceedings get to you rather late sometimes. Although your bills will a...lways get to you overnight as if by magic mail. I suggested he package my filings with my bills to make them more expedient in the future. One piece of advice if you retain him. MAKE HIM TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING NEXT IN PLAIN ENGLISH and hold him to it. He will wiggle but if you hold a flame to his butt he will perform as advertised. I just don't think you should have to pay a professional to do a job and then have to ride him to get it done.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
