John James Makowski

John’s experience derives from more than 20 years as a litigator and trial attorney. For 17 years he was with a highly regarded litigation firm in Macon, Georgia, where he acted as lead trial counsel for individuals, municipalities, small businesses, and a number of insurance companies and carriers. In 2015, John founded the Makowski Law Firm and focused on helping the seriously injured.

John developed his practice through years of litigation and trial work in the areas of motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, bodily injury, federal civil rights practice, and general business litigation. His Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent is the highest mark of professional excellence amongst his peers and colleagues. John's skills are recognized in Georgia's state and federal trial courts, Georgia's appellate courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, where John has successfully argued Fourth and Eighth Amendment civil rights cases. 

John grew up in Sandy Springs, spent his college years in Athens, and has called Macon home for more than 20 years.  He is married to Lauren and has three children.
