That is why there are lawyers and courts. So you can be compensated.
My landlord is having the house power washed and other improvements made to the property. They are using my water and electricit

If you can quantify the expense to you (which I suspect is minimal) you can ask for reimbursement.

You can sue the mechanic who did the work for your out of pocket expenses, but the expense of traveling back to that state may be more expensive...
