Over the course of his legal career, Gary B. Blasingame has earned a reputation for his knowledge of civil practice and procedure, his handling of witnesses in depositions and trials and his ability to calmly and skillfully guide clients through their legal issues.
“Lawyers are trained to be problem solvers,” he says. “Unlike the client, the lawyer can tackle a legal problem without bias, and he can advise the client without interference by personal emotions.”
Gary was born in Monroe, Georgia, on April 26, 1937. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Georgia in 1961 and was admitted to the bar in Georgia in the same year.
Following a clerkship with U.S. District Court Judge W.A. Bootle, Gary served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law.
He has since practiced in the area of personal injury litigation, focusing primarily in the areas of medical malpractice and defective products.
As a founding lawyer of Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C., Gary says he is proud to work with a team of talented attorneys, paralegals and secretaries.
“Our firm is blessed with good thinkers,” he says. “They are people with ingenuity and the ability to analyze – solution finders. We also have excellent leadership.”
When he isn’t practicing law, Gary enjoys reading, listening to good music, spending time in his woodworking shop and going out on the water during the summer and fall months.
