Divorce

Rob seemed to be more interested in getting questions answered for the opposing lawyer than getting answers to questions that I had. I felt like he just wanted to get the case settled with as little effort on his part as possible with no concern as to whether it was to my best interest or not. He f...inally withdrew after I confronted him about it. He did not provide me with any documentation as to his time on the case. He claimed that he had put more time in than his fee for an uncontested divorce, making reference to over a hundred emails he had received from me. The majority of the emails were notifications he received when I put documents, that he had requested into a DropBox file, all of which, I assume, could have been avoided had he changed in his DropBox settings.

Mr. Martin, while it was unfortunate that I was required to terminate you as a client, many of your factual assertions in this review are demonstrably false. I can count on my hands the number of clients I have fired in over 17 years of practice; you fall in a very “special” group, indeed. As you are well aware, the reasons I fired you are not at all what you claim here. Of course, since our communications are protected by attorney-client privilege, I will not address them substantively on this forum. However, the recent final disposition of your case entered in the public record leads me to conclude that your review -- made over a year after I withdrew -- is merely sour grapes over what appears to be the less than favorable outcome you ultimately obtained in your case. Nevertheless, I wish you luck in future endeavors and hope you are able to move forward positively from your wife divorcing you.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
