Bad communication, bad customer services, bad product.

Unfortunately, my experience with Mr. Cheeley was very negative. Our initial consultation was very brief, and even though I handed his paralegal a written document stating beneficiaries, etc., the product sent to me was fraught with errors. I sent an email back requesting clarification on some item...s, and corrections on others. In fairness, I also wanted to know if we could add additional items. When I received no response, I called and was told that they would have to charge me more to correct the errors. I pressed and asked what they could correct without additional charges since many were against my original wishes. I asked the paralegal to get back to me and sent a follow up email. When they followed up, I was told they would correct the errors and simply omit the items with which I had questions, but they would not execute the documents. The paralegal insinuated it was because she didn't like the tone of my follow up email (which was very inert and just listed the points of the conversation). Since they were in breach of contract by not wanting to execute the documents, I requested a refund and was refused. 10 days later they sent me a revised document with an offer to execute, but the revised document still had many of the original errors. By that time, since I had not heard from them, I had hired and had executed documents that were prepared to my satisfaction.

We agreed to provide certain services for an agreed fee. The client agreed that any additional services were to be charged based on time spent. However, after requesting additional services outside the original scope, the client did not want to pay for additional services. We provided all services as originally agreed. We have gone above and beyond in trying to satisfy this client.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
