Mr. Talley represented me in my divorce. I am dissatisfied with his services because of two significant reasons. First, he mediated a settlement with the opposing attorney which included a stipulation that my ex-wife refinance the home due to the fact that I was an obligor on the note. However, th...ere was no mechanism in place for what would happen if she failed to do so. This could, and should have been part of the agreement. Now, my ex-wife has failed to refinance the home, and will not refinance the home, has never paid one mortgage payment in 18 months, forcing me to pay her mortgage payments, and has failed to pay the property taxes for two years. The house is in default due to the taxes and could be foreclosed upon. I feel that since his oversight created this problem that he should take care of it at no cost, especially given the fact that 5 minutes after the verbal agreement was struck during the mediation with my ex-wife I brought it up to him as a possibility. At that time he merely told me that it was too late to include a provision in the mediated agreement because we had already concluded the agreement, and that I should have thought of that earlier. He hadn't thought of this ahead of time, which is what I pay an attorney for in the first place. Now I'm paying the cost. The second reason is that I initially hired Mr. Talley because during my first consultation with him he said that due to the short length of my marriage (6 years) and the fact that we had no children together, that I should not have to pay any alimony. She was perfectly capable of working, and he felt that our judge, whom he was friends with, would rule that way.
