James Patrick Lopez

James Lopez is an attorney with a broad litigation background and a strong focus on helping people who have been harmed and need someone in their corner. He graduated from Penn State with a degree in Communication, Arts, and Sciences and earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2017. Over the years, James has worked across personal injury and premises liability matters, as well as child abuse liability cases and unemployment compensation disputes representing both sides. A major part of his experience includes advocating for diocesan sexual abuse victims—acting as lead counsel for approximately 15 survivors and supporting about 70 additional cases through client interviews, demand drafting, and claim preparation—efforts that ultimately resulted in over $1,000,000 in settlement compensation. James is also known for staying with difficult cases, including securing a six-digit settlement for a client injured in a rare workplace accident involving exploding sandstone, despite serious questions about fault and causation. Born and raised in Miami in a lively Cuban household, James values family, community, and perseverance. Outside of work, he rarely misses a Penn State game and proudly supports the blue and white.
