James Blake Kamoroff

I spent much of my legal career inside the military justice system as an Army JAG officer, serving as a prosecutor, defense counsel, Senior Defense Counsel, and Senior Military Justice Practitioner. That experience taught me not only the law, but how military investigations, command decisions, adverse actions, and courts-martial actually unfold in practice.

Over the course of my career, I have counseled thousands of service members on military legal matters. My experience includes more than 500 GOMORs, Article 15 proceedings, and other adverse administrative actions, approximately 200 court-martial cases, more than 50 trials, and more than 120 administrative boards.

Today, I represent service members facing matters that can threaten their careers, reputations, security clearances, retirement benefits, and futures. My practice includes GOMORs and other reprimands, Article 15 and nonjudicial punishment proceedings, command and law-enforcement investigations, administrative separation and elimination actions, and other serious military administrative matters.

When I take on a case, my approach is to understand the facts in detail, identify what actually matters to the decision-maker, and build the strongest factual and legal response available. Military careers can be changed by decisions made very quickly. My goal is to make sure my clients have an experienced advocate when those decisions are being made.
