BEST LAWYER EVER

This was the first time I ever needed a lawyer so I was highly nervous, worried and afraid of what would be the outcome. Derek Rouse made all my worries go away, he was there every step of the way. Updating constantly about my case and insuring me that everything would be fine. Hopefully I won’t need... him anymore LOL but If I do, he WILL be the first person I call! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Strange Case. Perfect Outcome.

I've retained legal services, in various ways, in the past, and Derrick was definitely the most informed and thorough attorney I have worked with...even through a simple consultation. I consulted with Derrick for a hit-and-run case in which I was neither the plaintiff nor the defendant. Derrick ca...refully walked me through the each step of the process as well as scheduled a face-to-face meeting with the PD. Within a few days of following Derrick's advice, I had a certified police report, contact info for the on-scene officer, contact info for both the plaintiff and defendant, and all of the insurance information. Liability for the incident was converted to the correct place(s) in 10 days, and I was completely clear and free. I will definitely go back to Derrick for legal needs in the future.

Very knowledgeable and patient

Contacted this firm and my call was answered right away. I was connected to Derek for a consultation. He thoroughly answered all of my eviction questions. I feel more confident about my upcoming hearing. I highly recommend Derek - he knows his stuff!

My Experience

As much as I like Derek personally I cannot recommend him to anyone to handle a legal matter. He was always so full of excuses, it was frustrating. To give you an idea of the level of disorganization or incompetence I was dealing with: Derek promised me that he would be filing interrogatories in the ...next week. It was six months later the case was settled. Again, I am not here to attack his character. I personally struggled to write this review but his handling of my case was questionable. I tried very hard to be reasonable with him and allow him to make up for the mistakes that he made. I was certainly more generous than anyone I know would have been. But he just couldn't see past his own excuses.

Unfortunately I am not able to go into the specific details about this case, however, court dates are set by the courts not by the attorney. This case was not "settled" but was actually tried in court in front of a judge. This firm not only won the initial case for this client but the appeal as well. This firm was able to have more money awarded to this client at the appeal. Interrogatories were not necessary and would have cost this client additional fees. Though we welcome the input of our clients, the practice of law should be left to the attorney's. I cannot represent clients for free and I abide by the agreements for which legal services are provided both written and oral.
