George M. Fox

George Fox is a respected Atlanta attorney with more than 30 years of experience in the practice of law. After graduating from Emory University Law School and gaining experience with a local firm, he founded his own firm in 1983.

For the past seven years, George has written a monthly column for Smoke Signals, the newspaper in Big Canoe, Georgia. Aimed at laymen, it is titled “Big Canoe Law School.” He also serves as Adjunct Professor in the Center for Transactional Law and Practice at the Emory Law School.

As an attorney, George strives to present the facts clearly in plain English. He enjoys connecting personally with clients and finding fresh, creative, innovative solutions for their legal problems.

George is a sought-after resource for dealing with individual, inter-family and business issues when faced with disability. He is also known for his work dealing with end-of-life issues.

George frequently presents to bankers, financial advisors, veterans, industry groups and others. He has given seminars for the Georgia Tech School of Management and at State Bar of Georgia Continuing Legal Education classes. George also works with many charitable entities regarding their IRS qualification and structure.

George holds undergraduate and law degrees from Emory University. He shares both his personal and professional life with his wife Michele, who serves as the Administrator for Fox+Mattson, P.C.

George’s hobbies include directing musicals for community theater, an interest which goes back to his founding Ad Hoc Productions at Emory University – now the oldest theater production company on campus.
