Amanda Ariel Roy

A family law case impacts the most personal and fundamental aspects of a client’s life. A person’s life savings, children, and future are all affected by how their case is managed and resolved. As a result, it is imperative that an attorney carefully considers a client’s legal and personal interests throughout representation. Striking this balance is central to Amanda Roy’s approach to the practice of family law.

Amanda Roy graduated magna cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law and cum laude from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and minors in Spanish and political science. Amanda also gained valuable hands-on experience interning with the Honorable Alison Toller of Hall County Juvenile Court, mediating cases in Fulton County Landlord-Tenant Court, and researching children’s rights with Professor Jonathan Todres. Prior to law school, Amanda acted as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), where she advocated in court for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Upon finding a passion for helping families in times of need, she pursued law school with the specific intent of practicing family law. She has assisted clients with issues involving family and juvenile law since 2014 – first as file clerk, then as a legal assistant, and now as an attorney.

Amanda approaches every case with the goal of helping clients reach their desired resolution in a manner that best suits each client’s needs. She is acutely aware how that a client’s life frequently involves the opposing party long after a case ends – such as co-parents sharing graduations, weddings, and even grandchildren in the future. Above all, Amanda’s goal is to minimize a client’s stress by handling the legal side of a case while a client can focus on the important transition within their family.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husband, hiking with her Australian Shepherd, and cooking.
