This woman illegally put my name and all of my personal information on a con Edison bill so she would not be hit with the charges and instead my credit would be effected. After I asked her NOT TO USE MY INFORMATION she illegally took a copy of my passport and my social security information and create...d a false account in my name. I was notified by the other residents that there was bill that kept coming in the mail in my name that had added up to almost $1,059 once it got to my attention. When I tried to address the situation with this women she told me it was not her problem take it up with ConEdison she blocked me as a contact and refused to accept anymore calls regarding the issue. She then black mailed the other tenants and told them that if they opened the door and let me into the apartment (where my furniture was still ) then they would lose access to the new bigger apartment that she had promised them. She also told my roommates she would extend their lease if they agreed not to let me in. I had to have the police come to pop her locks so that I could let the moving company in because she was trying to keep me from moving off her premises. This woman was rude and nasty and unkept since the first day we met to see the property. She never kept up with repairs and would only come to fix things if it affected her apartment downstairs. She needs to be disbarred and put in prison for the slum lord that she is. 10/27/2020 2:52 PM

I hired Kara to represent me in a legitimization case. Kara and I spoke for about an hour and I hired her. She allowed a payment plan and explained she couldn't file my case until a certain amount was paid. I paid it on or about May 2017 and that's when the problems began. I constantly tried... contacting her to find out when I would have a court date. Finally, in July I was notified via her client portal that I had a court date of 10/2017. By the time of the court date all fees were paid in full. I arrived for my hearing but Kara didn't. She didn't call me I had to call her and she stated to tell the judge she was on the way. This was at 9:30. After an hour I called Kara again she then stated she had a flat tire and would definitely be there shortly. Well she arrived approximately at 11:30. Needless to say I found out from the judge that she wouldn't be hearing my case that day because I hadn't gotten a certified DNA test done which costs $490. When I asked Kara why didn't she tell me about the DNA test, she apologized and stated the law just changed. Kara said she would arrange for me to be setup on a payment plan for the DNA test since it was so last minute. So my case was continued until 11/2017 with judge ordering a DNA test to be completed prior to our court. I arrived to court 11/2017 and Kara was there. When my case was called I learned that my child and the mother had just gone two days prior therefore no results. The judge then threatened to dismiss my case because she stated Kara knew about the DNA test in June/July when her Staff Attorney emailed her. I also learned that this isn't the first time this judge had dismissed a case of hers. The judge specifically asked Kara if she told me about the DNA test and she replied, "yes however, I declined to get it". That was a blatant lie. The judge excused us to go and speak in the hall and she would call us back up. Well that was pointless because she had nothing to say except for I will refile the case for you. My reply to her was why did you lie to the judge about the DNA test, I have taken time off of work to appear in court two times and I have waited all year basically for absolutely nothing. Her response was, I only had one case dismissed by this judge and I don't give refunds. Needless to say I fired her. There was no need to have her refile my case because at this point I don't trust her because she lied on me with me standing there with her. Now I'm back at square one and out of the money I paid her.
