I represent clients throughout Georgia, focused in the metro Atlanta area
I have lived in the metro Atlanta area for over 25 years. I attended Emory University's Goizueta Business School for my undergraduate degree and later received my MBA and Law degrees from Georgia State University.
Prior to my legal career I worked in the insurance industry beginning in 2003. My education and work background give me a unique understanding of a wide variety of issues that may come up in both civil and criminal cases.
CIVIL (PLAINTIFF)
If you have been injured in any way that caused you physical and/or financial damage due to someone else's negligence, I can help you collect the maximum compensation you are entitled to, help you receive excellent medical care, and fight for your interests. I offer contingency percentages lower than the industry average and only get paid when you get paid. I represent clients for wrongful death, car accidents, slip/fall cases, and any other dispute or injury in which you feel you have been wronged. My business and insurance background are helpful when negotiating settlements with insurance companies and dealing with claims adjusters.
CRIMINAL DEFENSE
I learned how the prosecution prepares for criminal cases while at a metro Atlanta District Attorney's Office. While representing clients as a criminal defense attorney, I use my experience as a prosecutor to help identify and examine strengths and weaknesses in each case in order to get the best possible outcome for all of my clients. I am currently accepting clients accused of:
- all types of traffic tickets and city ordinance violations
- probation violation
- all misdemeanors
- almost all felonies (I do not represent Murder or Rape charges)

Best Attorney....
I had an assault charge and all charges were dismissed due to him keeping his word and being very honest about the severity of the case..... he will work in your favor as long as you are honest and consistent like himself....

Possession of marijuana misdemeanor
Joel took on my case along with the the three others involved and helped me get exactly what I needed from the agreement. I got off with the lowest possible punishment and im very happy with the contact he kept with me often and I loved having this over with quickly.

Marijuana Charges Dismissed
My minor son had a marijuana charge and Attorney Cohen was able to get the case dismissed. He was extremely helpful during the entire process. He was always available to answer any questions whenever we needed him.
