Received 2008 Walden-Herndon Award from the Judicial Section of the Gate City Bar Association. 1984 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College. Received Doctor of Law degree from Emory University in 1987. At Emory, served as Director-in-Chief of the Moot Court Society and as president of the Black Law Students Association. Received Emory Law School’s D. Robert Owen Memorial Award and the prestigious James C. Pratt Memorial Award (presented to the most outstanding member of the Emory Moot Court Society).
