Sara Elizabeth Root

Before joining Montlick, Sara began her career working for a large healthcare system, handling a broad range of legal matters and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. She later transitioned into private practice, where she gaining extensive litigation experience handling complex medical and personal injury cases and developing a strong command of both the legal and medical aspects of injury law.

Sara was inspired to become a lawyer at a young age after hearing an attorney speak at her sixth-grade career day – a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for advocacy and justice. While still a student, Sara worked as a Page in the Michigan House of Representatives, where she gained early exposure to public policy and the legislative process.

Building on that early commitment to advocacy, Sara pursued her education at Michigan State University, where she earned both her undergraduate degree and law degree, graduating with a concentration in Health Law.

When she is not advocating for her clients, Sara loves helping out in her Georgia community. She speaks publicly on behalf of Montlick to educate high school students and their parents about the serious responsibilities of driving. Passionate about protecting the civil justice system, Sara also works to raise awareness about the dangers of tort reform and the importance of preserving every citizen’s right to a trial by jury.

Sara also volunteers with the Georgia State Bar Association and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she helps hospitalized children through art and creative activities. She also enjoys coaching youth soccer, mentoring young athletes to build confidence, teamwork, and discipline. For Sara, being an attorney is about more than legal victories – it means standing up for those who can’t stand alone and using the law to make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
