Joel Howard Roth

Joel Roth is a seasoned personal injury attorney who has been practicing law since 1986, giving him nearly four decades of legal experience across both New York and Georgia. He has been serving clients at Montlick since 2002, where he is focused on a single purpose- wholeheartedly representing his clients with compassion and understanding.

Joel began his legal career in New York where he gained broad experience in civil litigation while practicing at general practice law firms. He handled a wide variety of civil matters that provided him with a strong foundation in litigation. He later served as a labor union attorney, sharpening his negotiation skills and strengthening his commitment to protecting working people. Joel also served as a volunteer arbitrator in the small claims courts in both Mount Vernon, New York and White Plains, New York–presiding over disputes and honing his ability to evaluate cases impartially. His admissions to both state and federal courts in New York and Georgia reflect the breadth of his advocacy experience.

Since relocating to Georgia in 2001, Joel has spent more than two decades at Montlick, devoting his career to protecting injured clients. He focuses exclusively on personal injury law, representing individuals who have suffered serious harm due to the negligence of others. While he has represented clients in a diverse range of claims, he is especially respected for his meaningful work on premises liability cases – matters that often involve complex liability disputes, meticulous investigations, and detailed negotiations – areas in which Joel excels. He is skilled at untangling these challenges, analyzing evidence, and building compelling arguments to hold property owners accountable.

Joel credits his uncle, Mr. Arnold Becker, the first public defender in Rockland County, New York as his inspiration to practice law. Following in his uncle’s footsteps, Joel knew his passion was to help people successfully solve their personal injury cases. Growing up in Yonkers, New York, Joel earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Manhattan College, where he was also a newsreader for WRCM, the student-run radio station, before going on to earn his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.

Service beyond the courtroom is equally important to Joel. A close family member’s diagnosis inspired his ongoing advocacy for Parkinson’s disease research, and he looks forward to the day when there is a cure. He also supports community healthcare initiatives, including participation in the WSB Radio Care-a-Thon benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

When time allows, he enjoys weather forecasting, listening to “oldies” music, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves and the New York Yankees. Joel and his wife, Charlene, live in Dunwoody, Georgia, where he continues to live out his commitment to service and justice in both his professional and personal life.
