Matthew McLaughlin recently opened McLaughlin Law Firm after leaving the the Atlanta office of Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP. He represents clients in a wide array of civil cases. Matthew aggressively represents clients in all phases of litigation from pre-suit evaluation, settlement, trial, and appeals.

Matthew represents insurance carriers in coverage disputes and insureds in all manner of tort and contract actions. He also represents businesses directly in customer and vendor disputes. Matthew focuses his attention on advancing the best interests of his clients.

Bad Faith and Coverage Litigation

Matthew has prosecuted declaratory judgment actions on behalf of insurance carriers in state and federal courts. In addition, he has defended insurance carriers in bad faith and declaratory judgment actions filed by insureds. He is also experienced in pursuing interpleader actions and other equitable remedies on behalf of insurers.

Legal Malpractice and Professional Negligence

Matthew’s experience in legal malpractice and professional negligence fields includes the defense of lawyers, physicians, real estate appraisers and other professionals. In defending legal malpractice cases, Matthew has been exposed to litigation in real estate commercial transactions, products liability, wills and estates, ERISA, and personal injury cases.
