Joel's commercial construction practice includes representation of design firms, developers, contractors, and manufacturers in contract, building performance, surety and insurance coverage issues on a variety of project types including high containment biohazard and nuclear facilities, energy plants, government buildings, high rise office buildings, hotels, condominiums and retail centers.

Joel’s complex business litigation experience includes extensive representation of companies as both plaintiff and defendant in business-tort and RICO cases as well as cases involving fiduciary fraud and disloyalty by corporate officers and agents. Joel also has successfully handled cases involving lender liability, commercial contract disputes, insurance coverage disputes and personal injury.

Joel’s product liability experience includes defense of manufacturers of building products, pharmaceuticals, household appliances, and cellular telephones. Joel has also served as national, class action, and strategic planning counsel for leading building product manufacturers in defense of consumer class actions and individual construction defect lawsuits throughout the United States.
