Ahmad R Crews

I hired Attorney Crews to represent me on a traffic ticket that I received in connection with traffic accident in November 2020. He was very communicative when we contracted and made arrangements for payments, but did little else after that. My wife and I immediately stressed to him that it would be ...important to get footage from traffic cameras at the intersection in question when we hired him in mid-November 2020 .He took a look at the ticket I received and said that he had contacts at the prosecutors office and would be able to get this dismissed right away. By early December he still had not requested that the footage be preserved. He consequently was unable to secure the footage, compromising my ability to defend against the charges. Instead, he called to tell us that he'd gotten a copy of the report----which my wife and I had already gotten a copy of on our own. Between 2021 and January 2024 we only heard from attorneys or assistants that worked with Mr. Crews and not Mr. Crews himself, we reached out to him ourselves. In February 2024, I finally had my court date in municipal court, Mr. Crews told us that he would not be able to attend but would send another attorney in his stead. We had a quick phone call with that attorney, Attorney Harrell, the day before court to introduce her to us but not having any meaningful convo about the substance of the case. On the court date, Attorney Harrell was late and by the time she showed, I had negotiated a diversion for myself. My wife and I told her that we no longer needed her/Mr. Crew's services and walked away. When I got home, I saw a missed call from Attorney Crews (he had called my house phone while he should have known I was at my court date). I called him back and he immediately began telling me-- a 63 year-old man- that he was very upset with me and that I had "belittled" his fiance. ((Turns out that Attorney Harrell was his fiance and not just a colleague). He then threatened to call the police if I contacted him again and hung up the phone in my face. He's been dodging my calls and voicemails ever since and has been non-responsive to my request for a refund. This is not the way a lawyer or a man should handle business.

Ahmad Crews is a phenomenal attorney and I say that with much respect. He is very professional and loyal. He worked so hard on my son’s appeal case and he never gave up. He went above and beyond our expectations. He would always keep us informed which made us feel at ease. He would always answer ever...y call if I have questions or concerns. I remember when I first hired him I was feeling down about my son’s situation and he gave me some very encouraging words that I will always appreciate. In the end we won our appeal case yayyyyyyyyy!!!!! If it wasn’t for his dedication and skills things could have went differently. Just want be helpful for anyone in a tough situation… My boyfriend is facing pretty harsh charges so we wanted to go with the best lawyer we could find. His response time and communication is great, at first. We tried to be patient and understanding since he was working on the early steps of the case..., however days would go by where we were left with no response to calls/texts all of sudden. This would happen especially after we were able to pay him in full for three whole charges. SO THEN.. out of nowhere with less than seven days until his court date Mr. Crews withdrawals from the case completely. He offers a refund amount minus over 1k to pay other attorneys that “helped” but honestly it felt like we hadn’t gotten anywhere with anything besides getting a court date. Also, the way he did the refund right before the weekend will now take days for my bank to make the funds accessible so we can pay another lawyer. Like why not just write a check.. when I paid him i’m sure he had the money right away. So now we are having to push the court date out another month.. just more dead time that he’s sitting in jail… we all know that’s just more time and money being taken away from me being able to prepare for my child on the way. Clearly it wasn’t meant to be with this attorney, so I’m thankful he was moved away from our path. He could’ve been more considerate, responsive, and also from consulting with other attorneys, there’s different approaches and strategies that they’re mentioning that Ahmad just never said anything about. If you’re looking, just don’t be hasty.

The judge himself also made a point of complimenting him, saying that he was the most prepared, well-spoken attorney that they have ever seen in that courtroom, and thanked him for his ability to use the technology provided seamlessly.
