Eric T. Hawkins

Eric Hawkins is a partner in the Atlanta office of Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP and focuses his practice on product liability, toxic tort, environmental litigation, and related specialties. He defends a wide variety of complex claims involving asbestos, silica, benzene, employment law, premises liability and personal injury matters. Eric assists in the development of national trial strategy for large corporate clients and also represents them in national litigation and as local counsel. In addition to Georgia, he has defended cases in 23 other states and numerous other jurisdictions throughout the United States.

Eric participates in all phases of litigation including written discovery, taking and defending depositions (including trial cross examination of plaintiffs, corporate witnesses and expert witnesses), drafting pre-trial motions, arguing motions at hearing, and trial. He applies a creative motion practice that includes summary judgment motions, motions in limine, and has drafted aDaubert motion that excluded testimony of the plaintiff’s pathologist resulting in the court striking the witness and granting summary judgment. Eric has also second-chaired numerous cases resulting in defense verdicts.
