From 2000 to 2003, I served in the 82nd Airborne Division's 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment.  I deployed to Afghanistan in 2002 to fight in the War on Terror.  I've been on the front lines.  I know what real fighting looks like.  Families should never have to go through that kind of turmoil.
