Kiyoaki Kojima

Kiyo is a Principal in BFV’s Corporate Practice.  He assists clients in areas of corporate formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, secured transactions, joint ventures, leasing and licensing matters, as well as distribution and franchise arrangements. He also provides practical preventative advice in all areas of labor and employment law, including employment agreements, policies and handbooks, hire/fire/discipline issues, union-avoidance training, as well as discrimination and harassment claims.

An important part of Kiyo’s practice consists of assisting international companies relocate and operate, or establish subsidiaries, in the Southeastern U.S.  He and the BFV team provide comprehensive services in wide-ranging areas, from real estate, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, to employment and various contracts, often “quarter-backing” with other service professionals to mitigate risk and help manage a smooth transition or a launch of U.S. operations.

In his spare time, Kiyo “moonlights” as a bassoonist (and occasionally as a saxophonist) in venues around town.  He has played for musicals at the Fox Theater, and with ensembles such as the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, the Atlanta Ballet, the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Mercury Season, The Drive-By Big Band, the Black Sheep Ensemble and the Mercury Orkestar.
