Brian K. Mathis

Brian Mathis is a partner at Insley & Race, LLC and specializes in the defense of medical malpractice, hospital law, hospital liability, premises liability and insurance defense. He represents individuals, corporations, and insurance companies in state and federal courts, both at the trial and appellate levels. He has successfully defended many catastrophic and high-exposure cases, including cases involving brain and birth injuries, as well as, catastrophic and wrongful death claims. His ability to handle complex litigation matters has earned him state and national recognition including being named as a Rising Star in Georgia from 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 in the Georgia Super Lawyers magazine. He also advises and leads educational sessions on various topics. Prior to joining Insley & Race, LLC, Brian served as a clerk with the Honorable Judge Steve Jones of the Northern District of Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics from Vanderbilt University (B.S., 2001). His law degree was conferred by the University of Georgia School of Law (J.D. 2004). Brian is a native of Atlanta, Georgia.
