Carrie B. Markham

Civil law attorney Carrie B. Markham devotes her practice to civil litigation and transactional matters.  Her specialties include civil litigation, employment law, family law, and local government law.  In addition, Carrie devotes a portion of her practice to transactional matters, including drafting and negotiating contracts, drafting wills and probate documents, and providing counsel to businesses on employment law and other issues.

Having practiced at one of the largest law firms in Atlanta, Alston & Bird, LLP, after graduating magna cum laude from Mercer University in 2005, Carrie was given the tools and training required to advise clients in all manner of business law matters. Carrie has served as counsel in a variety of cases in state and federal court, including successful representation of developers in bank litigation, successful representation of employers in Fair Labor Standards Act litigation, and successful client navigation through the post-judgment discovery process.  In addition, Carrie has been successful on appeal in a wide variety of cases to both the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.

While in law school at Mercer, Carrie was a member of the Mercer Law Review and served as the Georgia Survey Editor.  During law school, she served as a summer intern to the Honorable Jack Camp of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Actively involved in community organizations, Carrie is a member of the Newnan Junior Service League, where she has served on the chair board since 2011.  She is a graduate of the 2010-2011 Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce Leadership Coweta class.  She is also a member of Central Baptist Church in Newnan, where she teaches 1st and 2nd graders and serves on the children’s ministry team.  Carrie currently resides in Newnan with her husband and two sons.
