J. Anderson (Andy) Davis, a founding partner at Davis Lucas Carter, LLP, focuses his practice on complex business litigation, personal injury, governmental official liability, and class actions. Andy serves as City Attorney for the City of Rome, lead attorney for the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority, and outside General Counsel for Shorter University. Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Andy has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer since 2006. With over 350 cases in federal courts, he has extensive trial experience in federal and superior courts. Currently, Andy is involved in high-stakes cases, including representing the City of Rome in a water pollutant case and addressing the opioid crisis in various cities and counties. Notable past cases include class action litigation against Online Travel Companies and a successful wrongful death case resulting in a $30 million verdict. Actively engaged in his community, Andy has received numerous awards for his leadership and service, including the Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Benham Awards for Community Service. Andy holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia. He is married to Janice Jetton, a CPA, and they have two children, Claire Davis McWhorter and Hunter Davis.
