Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Patrick attended The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. After graduating, Patrick spent nearly two years working full-time with charitable organizations throughout the United States, among many other odd-jobs to pay the bills. Much of his service work was performed with churches and at youth camps (youth leadership), at schools (mentorships and program coordinator), within the courts (guardian ad-litem), and in other community organizations (after-school programs, tutoring, and food banks). Through these unique experiences, Patrick was able to help others and to improve the communities he served. Desiring to expand his impact and investment in his neighbors, Patrick pursued a legal career.
Patrick attended law school in Birmingham, Alabama at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law where he emphasized his studies on trial advocacy. During this period, Patrick also balanced his studies with extracurricular activities including acting in regional theater. While in law school, Patrick met and married his wife, the former Laura Lundy of Cedartown, Georgia.
Patrick previously practiced law in Atlanta at two nationally-renown litigation and trial firms where he refined his advocacy skills daily by going against the best insurance attorneys in the country and helping to secure millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts. Due to his wife's love and passion for her hometown and their shared desire to raise a family that is influenced by a community that puts values first, Patrick and his wife returned to Polk County to plant their roots.
Principled representation is the foundation of Patrick's law practice. Meshing the discipline and focus forged at military college with his diverse experiences, Patrick's true strength lies in the details he tirelessly works to uncover. Because, this is what matters to his clients as well as to the success of each case.
Licensed to practice in Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama, Patrick is equipped to pursue justice and fair compensation for his clients. As founder and principal attorney of Wheale Law, Patrick invests great care and attention to detail in each of his client’s cases.
