Marc grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia, a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1988 and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1993. Marc has been admitted to practice law in both Georgia and Virginia since 1993.
Before law school, Marc worked on Capitol Hill as a congressional legislative assistant. This work included detailed analysis and revisions to federal trucking and aviation regulations. Marc then spent almost a decade representing airlines and airports, trucking companies, contractors, and insurance companies. In 2002, Marc “switched sides” and began representing individuals and families who have been harmed by wrongful conduct.
Marc is a regular speaker at legal seminars, including national webinars for trial lawyers around the country. Marc is also active in the legal profession and his community. From 2010-2020, Marc was elected to represent 12,000 lawyers in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit on the State Bar Board of Governors. Marc is on the Board and was president of the Sandy Springs Bar Association, is the past Chair of the Civil Justice PAC of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and was on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice. Marc also serves as the “Chancellor” (general counsel) for Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in Sandy Springs.
Marc’s practice areas include tractor trailer wrecks, car accident injuries, bicycle and pedestrian injuries, motorcycle accidents, plane and helicopter accidents, negligent security, nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, wrongful death. Marc also handled a landmark class action case before the Georgia Supreme Court (Anderson v. So. Home Care Services, Inc.), where Marc represented over 9,000 home health care workers who had not been paid wages for the time spent driving to see clients. Marc has argued before the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals over 20 times. Marc is also certified as a civil mediator by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.
Marc lives with his wife Julie in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Their daughters Lucy (UGA 2023) and Sadie (Michigan 2026) have left the nest, so Marc enjoys spending his time running, biking, and walking his beagles, Freddy and Marley.
