Anthony Soto

Mr. Anthony Soto was appointed to defend me in Cobb County State Court for a misdemeanor obstruction charge and an Impeding Traffic citation. Both were ridiculous charges, as i was stalled in the right lane of a 3-lane street. I had gotten a bit smart with the cop while begging him to be empathetic &... let me hire my own tow truck. So he arrested me and i spent the night in jail. Of course, there was more to it but not even worth rehashing. Regardless, i was somewhat apprehensive to use a public defender after past dealings with some bad ones. But Mr. Soto eased my mind immediately! He was very to-the-point, patient & effective. Since this was a pretty basic case, i only had one short phone discussion with him; He presented himself professionally, but in a light-hearted way. Not at all intimidating, pushy or rushed. He asked for the details of my case and explained to me what i could expect. He discussed my case with the prosecutor who wanted me to jump thru a couple hoops to feed the system but due to ongoing medical issues, I was unable to complete one hoop. No problem. The other hoop would cost more than i could afford, since i hadn't worked due to my health. The court extended the arraignment hearing several times over the span of 14 months, which allowed me some time to find the money to complete the hoop. Mr Soto's periodic update texts were polite and not at all intrusive. If i didn't respond right away, he was patient. The day of court finally came & I was required to appear. But as i was walking from my parking spot he called me to say "You can turn around and go home. The case was dismissed" What a load lifted! With my case, I didn't really need an attorney but I knew it would be in my best interest to have one. I would recommend Anthony Soto to anyone in need of criminal defense, and believe that he's a competent attorney. I would use him again if needed, but I just hope that won't happen!
