Mr. Starkey represented me in a Debt Dispute Matter where he took "head on" a big law firm out of Washington D.C. that was collecting on a student loan allegedly owed to my old college. The amount attempted to be collected was egregious, erroneous and over-stated. If I remember correctly the allege...d debt was for $12,000.00 plus dollars. I knew I did not owe that amount but did not have the paper trail to prove it exactly. I was certain I would have to file bankrupt. I knew there was a certain small portion of the debt that was actually owed but no where near what the law firm was trying to collect. Mr. Starkey actually filed suit under a Federal Statute known as the FDCPA and was able to resolve the case where my entire debt with my old college was resolved without me paying a penny. Mr. Starkey made no promises except that he would work hard to resolve the matter favorably. He did that and plus more and I avoided a certain bankruptcy filing.
