Suzanne takes sides, and it might not be yours

If I could give zero stars I would. Suzanne blew my case on the last leg of the journey. After paying her $5k, she racked up another $5k in nickel and dime charges. She charged me for emails that were sent to me that didnt even pertain to my business with her. While well organized, Suzanne will take ...sides in cases and it might not be yours. She was overly compassionate to my now ex wife. At the time they were both new mothers. Ultimately, after paying her $7k she let the final order, drafted by my ex wife's attorney, sit on her desk long enough for him to have it pushed through the court without any response or correction on my part. After expressing my concerns Suzanne told me "do not contact my office again unless it's to pay your balance due". The order drafted by the opposition had many discrepancies that needed to be addressed and Suzanne neglected to finish her job for me.

To J.G: I sincerely regret that your Wife decided to divorce you. Notwithstanding, it does not benefit anyone, including yourself, to lie about what transpired in your case. Just because your divorce order was not drafted to your liking does not mean that it is faulty. Your behavior in posting false statements about your representation will not cause me to write off the balance due and owing to our firm. I regret that our professional relationship ended because of your refusal to pay for legal services rendered. As always, I would be happy to assist you in whatever way possible, provided; however, that you pay for the services requested.

Would not recommend

I hired Mrs. Henrickson to defend me in my child custody case. I paid a $4050 retainer. She did about two hours worth of work before she hung up on me. She refused to take my calls and refused to give my money back.

Unfortunately, Michael has been posting false reviews and statements about his family law attorneys (of which I am just one). Michael consulted with me and was provided honest legal advice. I traveled to Forsyth County Courthouse, reviewed all of his legal pleadings (filed by his attorneys of record), attended a meeting with him, and had multiple in-office and telephone conferences with him. Combined, the legal services exceeded 2 hours (it took two hours to travel round trip to Forsyth County alone). Furthermore, any unused retainer fees were refunded to him. I am unaware of the ultimate result of Michael's custody dispute, as I was not his trial attorney. I wish him the best of luck and hope that he finds happiness.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
