Thomas J. Andersen

With roots in the Midwest, Tom Andersen's path led him to Gwinnett County after graduating from Emory Law School. Initially drawn to a small-town practice, Tom adapted to the region's explosive growth, transforming into a versatile attorney adept at tackling complex legal challenges. His intellectual rigor and client commitment cultivated a devoted client base as the county’s population soared.

Tom's initial breadth of practice encompassed jury trials, real estate, contract law, estate planning, and banking regulation. An early hallmark of career success was his appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court in a death penalty case during his first year. Inspired by his grandfather in the banking sector, Tom shifted his focus to transactional law, ultimately representing banks in compliance and commercial lending. His leadership contributed to landmark projects, such as acquiring the Atlanta Beltline and facilitating infrastructure for Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Recently, he managed the intricate sale of a landfill and quarry operation.

For over ten years, Tom has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer and was honored as Real Estate Lawyer of the Year in 2016. His commitment extends to community service, holding leadership roles in numerous organizations, including chairing the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. In 2018, he and his wife Ethel were jointly named Citizens of the Year, reflecting his deep community involvement.
