Joseph Alan Kaiser

My legal career began in earnest as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (the equivalent of an Assistant District Attorney in Georgia) in St. Louis County Missouri where I practiced for 10 years. 

In 2012, I relocated to Georgia and joined the Atlanta staff counsel office for one of the largest insurance companies in the country gaining extensive first-chair trial civil jury experience. In May, 2018 I joined Groth, Makarenko, Kaiser & Eidex where I currently serve as the firm’s managing partner.

My practice focuses on auto, premises and general liability defense as well as insurance coverage opinions and coverage litigation. I am admitted to practice before all state courts in Georgia and Missouri, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the 11 th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. I am a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the Atlanta Claims Association, CLM and DRI. In addition, I am an active member of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the State Bar of Georgia and has served as a featured speaker at the Insurance Law Institute hosted annually by the TIPS section on St. Simons Island. I also hold an “AV” peer-reviewed rating from Martindale Hubbell.

I am a registered neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolutions and serve as a senior neutral with Sugarloaf ADR.
