James Carl Joedecke Jr

Jim Joedecke helps lead the Litigation Group of Andersen, Tate & Carr, P.C. His practice is focused in the areas of contract and business litigation, employment litigation (employer and employee) franchising litigation (franchisor and franchisee), condemnation and real estate litigation, bankruptcy, tax appeals and landlord/tenant disputes. Mr. Joedecke represents a variety of businesses and individuals in trial and appellate litigation around the country, as well as before local government boards and agencies, and in mediation and arbitration. Mr. Joedecke has argued successfully numerous times before the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. Mr. Joedecke has been repeatedly named a Georgia Super Lawyer, an honor that is determined by peer vote and bestowed upon less than 5% of lawyers in Georgia.  Mr. Joedecke also received a highly-coveted distinguished rating from Martindale Hubbell National Legal Directory, a rating recognizing his competence and integrity.

Mr. Joedecke received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Emory University in 1993, and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1996.  Mr. Joedecke was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Georgia in 1996 and the State of South Carolina in 1997. Mr. Joedecke is licensed to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, Mr. Joedecke has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice in courts around the Country. Mr. Joedecke is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (Eminent Domain and Franchise Law Sections), the Federal Bar and Gwinnett County Bar associations.

Mr. Joedecke is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Gwinnett.  He is a past President of the Rotary Club of Braselton, and has served on the Governing Board for Rotary District 6910.  Mr. Joedecke serves on the Board of Advisors for the American Cancer Society in Gwinnett County, and was recently appointed to the Board of Advisors for the Winder YMCA.  Mr. Joedecke also serves on the Ethics Commission for the town of Braselton.  He and his wife, Stephanie, served as Co-Chairs of the Cancer Society’s Dancing with the Stars Gala.  Mr. Joedecke also served as long-time coach of the South Gwinnett High School Mock Trial Team and was named Outstanding Attorney Coach by the State Bar of Georgia. He has also represented indigent defendants before Gwinnett County’s Juvenile Courts through the Gwinnett Bar Association’s Truancy Intervention Project.  Mr. Joedecke currently resides with his wife and three children in Braselton, Georgia.
